FLIPPER at XOYO w/ GREY HAIRS

I've just come from the gig at the XOYO in this rainy 10th April 2012, I know I look like the sort of nerd waiting to come home to write on internet how shit was everything, but that's not true, I haven't written in this blog for ages, so I don't give a shit. Anyway, Tonight Flipper were playing in the Old London, here you are:

Flipper are old
Flipper know how to be on stage
Flipper are LOUD
Flipper are SLOW
Flipper is a BOMB
Flipper don't share their drinks
Flipper is mental disorder
.
.
.

But....

The best band (JUST MY OPINION!) was the opening one (AS USUAL)... Grey Hairs from Nott.

I didn't like Eagulls, I'm not gonna write about them.

Flipper are old but they know how to to drop an hydrogen bomb into the audience and you feel in any moment anything is going to explode, can be a fight, can be an anvil falling down the ceiling or it just can be a supersaturated Pro co RAT. I've been checking some set list from this European tour and they've been playing the same old songs every single night, those old songs really can fit in any generation massacre. We really need people on the edge pushing the violence that surrounded us coming from the human behaviour to make us feel bodies.
They were short, too much, I can't believe I'm saying that cos I always complain to myself about the length of some bands, but trust me, I would need an extra hour playing the whole gone fishin' album.
I'll choose  what H. Rollins wrote in "Get in the van" to describe the Flipper experience:

They were just heavy. Heavier than you. Heavier than anything...When they played they were amazing."

PS: I don't know anything about Grey Hairs, just that they are from Nott and the singer knows how to move, but I fucking loved it. It's the better description I can tell you.

The Young

I've been listening this album too much and I can tell you that it's one of my favourites records. The Young are from Austin, TX and they've got what a band needs: Good songs. It's seems nowadays it's important to get into a hype than writing songs into your own. I'd rather let to listen it than try to explain the influences, it would be useless. Ladies and Gents:

I must look like a Dork

There some photos I've been taking this last days, I forgot that once upon a time I used to take photos. Seriously, to work 44 hours/week is insane, it took every single drop of creativity and personality in all human beings.

THE BEST BAND EVER

Just because Greg Ginn & Co were the biggest band ever. No one experimented, risked and took music so honest like them.

Veronica - Why Don't They Let Us Fall in Love
El Último De La Fila - insurrección
Syd Barrett  - Here I Go
John Lennon - Instant Karma!
Van Morrison - Madame George
Pink Floyd - shine on you crazy diamond
The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky
The Wedding Present - Make me smile (come up and see me)
Undershakers - Hazañas belicas
Radio Futura - Corazón de Tiza
